While you can\u2019t simply use diapers intended for infants on your kitty (cats are anatomically different and require special diapers), diapers are an excellent last-ditch remedy for a host of feline-related issues.<\/p>\n<p>Cat diapers are a little more complicated than diapers for human babies. While neutering your cat will likely greatly reduce their urge to \u201cmark their territory\u201d by spraying urine, some male cats still try to do it on occasion.<\/p>\n<p>Cats may also start \u201cmarking\u201d due to an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspca.org\/pet-care\/cat-care\/common-cat-behavior-issues\/urine-marking-cats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">upsetting change in their environment<\/a> at home or a conflict between them and another cat.\u00a0 Which makes it especially difficult to have them <a href=\"https:\/\/catkingpin.com\/can-two-cats-share-a-litter-box\/\">share a litter box<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Because cat urine is so potent and very hard to wash out, some owners may decide to diaper their cats when they\u2019re in the house to keep their belongings from being peed on.<\/p>\n<p>There are many ways to curb marking behavior, such as setting out more litter boxes and scooping the box more frequently. Measure your cat carefully and consider their weight before purchasing diapers.<\/li>\n<li>Go slow. Forcing your cat to wear a diaper will likely make them very unhappy. Introduce your cat to the diaper slowly, praise them and speak to them softly while putting it on, and give them plenty of time to adjust.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure your cats tail isn\u2019t inhibited by the diaper. Cats <a href=\"https:\/\/catkingpin.com\/why-do-cats-have-tails\/\">use their tails<\/a> to communicate and should be able to wag and move freely, even with a diaper on.<\/li>\n<li>Check periodically to make sure the diaper isn\u2019t rubbing on their legs or creating any sort of irritation.
